     Volume One

       ROMEO AND JULIET

Romeo finds Juliet in the tomb.

Romeo ran into the tomb
     And saw Juliet asleep,
The sight of her just lying there
Made him break down and weep.

     He saw the shrouded Tybalt
And to the corpse he said,
‘Your soul can rest in peace, my friend,
I too will soon be dead.’

     Romeo kissed Juliet
     Then without the slightest sound,
     He drank the poisonous potion
     And collapsed upon the ground.

     If only he had waited
     If only he’d not taken
     The poison at the moment
     Juliet would awaken.
