MACBETH
Macbeth consults the witches.
He sought them out within a cave,
Far on the lonely heath;
They were busy making charms
Of tongues and eyes and teeth.
They used the eyes of toads, the tongues
Of adders, bits of rats;
They used the legs of lizards
And tangled wool from bats.
The gall of goats, the roots of yew,
Encased in graveyard mud,
They boiled it in a cauldron which
They cooled with baboon’s blood.
They used this dark and evil brew
To see what was in store,
By reaching wicked spirits
Who then told them what they saw.
